We loved the idea that the Iranians wanted to continue the Assault on Iran story line. Only trouble is, we didn't want to wait until next spring to respond. They chose Karbala as the location, so we've gone ahead and modeled the city according to our Intel. Let the games begin.
This is a custom red-on-blue map that features a lot of back allys, corners and garbage dumpsters to hide behind. If it sounds a little like Mission 16, that's because Karbala's got a lot of the same features, so we were able to use Sadr City, our most popular multiplayer map to date, as an example of how we wanted this ROB map to flow.
Karbala has a marketplace, a portion of which we modeled in the map. It's one of those areas we were able to really expand on using the new game engine, making the fruit "explodable" and allowing players open and close doors, garages and windows.
But all the extras aside, a deathmatch is a deathmatch. Your opponents have all the same advantages you do, so it will be a matter of who learns the layout of the map faster and which team learns to exploit the map features better.
