In June 1998, the CIA's super-secret Bin Laden Unit planned a bold and daring raid to capture the Saudi terrorist mastermind and spirit him out of the country. It revolved around a family of Agency-backed guerillas. Codenamed TRODPINT, the men were former Afghan mujahedeen who had fought the Soviets during the 1980s. About 30 total, they were organized in groups of a dozen apiece, traveling the countryside in SUVs and motorcycles, armed by the Company with assault rifles, land minds, and secret communications equipment.
