WHAT:
Episodic game maker Kuma Games announces the latest in its 5-year series of free, news-based video games. Developed using state-of-the-art video game technology and inspired by the ongoing events in Swat Valley, Pakistan, Kuma deploys players into Mingora, the largest city in the area, where Taliban militants have dug-in in advance of a major Pakistani Army offensive.
"We aim to bring critical issues of the day into focus for a generation raised on video games," says Kuma CEO, Keith Halper. "The resolve displayed by Pakistanis in re-asserting the role of government and the rule of law should be a key lesson to us all. We help gamers around the world to pay attention."
Video game and current events enthusiasts can download the game for free and immediately enter the story in a heart-pounding, first-person game of "domination" – a new game-play mode at Kuma Games in which players work as team to advance and hold territory, block by block. Players re-creating the Pakistani Army experience must force Taliban militants back to restore the writ of state over the town. Players entering the game as Taliban fighters attempt to hold positions to maintain recent territorial gains and continue their advance on the Pakistani capital.
